The Journal Software, Hardware, and Information Technology (SHIFT) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Alauddin Makassar, Indonesia. It has been published online since 2021. SHIFT Volume 6, Number 2, was published in June 2026. Every submitted manuscript is reviewed by expert reviewers through a double-blind process. This edition of the issue contains 8 articles from authors affiliated with 11 different institutions, including the following: Universitas Duta Bangsa (IDN), Universitas Halu Oleo (IDN), Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (IDN), Universitas Sebelas April (IDN), Universitas AMIKOM Yogyakarta (IDN), UIN K.H. About the Journal

The Journal Software, Hardware and Information Technology (SHIFT) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Alauddin Makassar, Indonesia. It has been published online since 2021. SHIFT publishes original research findings and high-quality scientific articles that present cutting-edge approaches, including methods, techniques, tools, implementations, and applications. The journal serves as an archival resource for scientists and engineers involved in all aspects of information technology, computer science, computer engineering, information systems, and software engineering.

SHIFT is registered with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) with e-ISSN: 2776-8961 and p-ISSN: 2808-3385. Every published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registered with Crossref under the prefix 10.24252/shift.

SHIFT is accredited SINTA 5 based on Decree No. 10/C/C3/DT.05.00/2025 issued by the Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology.The accreditation status can be viewed on the SINTA journal profile.

SHIFT is published twice a year, in January and June. Further details are available on the Publication Schedule page. All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process conducted by expert reviewers, as described on the Peer Review Process page.

Starting from Volume 7 No. 1 (2027), SHIFT only accepts manuscripts written in English. This policy aims to strengthen the journal’s international reach and support future international indexing. Authors are advised to follow the latest Author Guidelines and manuscript template before submitting their articles.

Journal History

2021 – Launch. Journal Software, Hardware and Information Technology (SHIFT) was launched by the Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Islam Negeri Alauddin Makassar. The first issue, Volume 1 Number 1, was published in January 2021. Since then, SHIFT has been published twice a year, in January and June, as an open-access journal with e-ISSN 2776-8961 and p-ISSN 2808-3385. All articles are registered with Crossref and assigned a DOI under the prefix 10.24252/shift.

March 2025 – National accreditation. SHIFT was accredited SINTA 5 by the Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology through Decree No. 10/C/C3/DT.05.00/2025.

June 2025 (Volume 5 Number 2) – New article template. Starting with Volume 5 Number 2, SHIFT adopted a new article template and layout. A new first-page layout with an article information box (submission, revision, acceptance, and publication dates, how to cite, DOI, and license), updated headers and footers. Articles published before this issue retain their original layout.

October 2026 – Platform upgrade to OJS 3.5. The journal website was upgraded from Open Journal Systems (OJS) 3.4 to OJS 3.5. All previously published content, DOIs, and article URLs remain unchanged.

January 2027 (Volume 7 Number 1) – English-only publication. Starting with Volume 7 Number 1, SHIFT accepts manuscripts written in English only.
